Makena Surf

Brett and I spent several beautiful days in Maui with our girls and grandson Malan. Makena Surf is a place that Brooke dearly loved and we have so many happy memories here with her. Each day we did something as a family to feel close to Brooke. We dressed in Brooke's sundresses for a photoshoot on her favorite beach (which we have now named Brooke's Beach), we hiked along Hoapili Trail and created a memorial with Brooke's name in coral and white stones among the lava fields, we sat on the lanai together and used Brooke's watercolor pens and watercolor book to create some of her favorite artwork in Brooke's memory, we went out to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants (Pita Paradise) and bought her sisters matching necklaces from the local jeweler who's jewelry Brooke loved (she wore an aquamarine necklace every day the last couple of years which we had purchased together at this stand - now I wear her necklace and her sisters have coordinating necklaces too). We are so thankful for this beautiful world and for the countless happy memories we share wth Brooke and will continue to make as a family. Brooke will always be near! We have felt her close many times here! We will do all we can to find ways for our Family Love for Brooke to Grow! Aloha!
