Week Four- Reflections

How could it have been four weeks since our beloved Brooke returned to heaven?! It feels as if time has been standing still for our family, yet it also feels like forever since we have seen her sparkling eyes, felt her warm hugs and listened to her laughter.

In a Mothers day letter that Brooke wrote to me a few years ago she said,
“One of my favorite scriptures is Alma 36:3 …'For I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.' When we put our trust in the Lord our God and have faith, then even though we go through trials, we will be supported through them and get through them. For 'I know the the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way of them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. - 1 Nephi 3:7.
She continues, "I guess most of this I am saying more for myself than for you Mom, but these few scriptures truly have buoyed me up and made me want to be So Good and Shine So Bright that one day I may have the Light of Christ Shine through my Face.”

Brooke has such a powerful testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. I have felt powerful witnesses that she has been called home so that her wise, vibrant soul can minister to the suffering, downtrodden souls in the ways that she so longed to be able to do upon this earth.
Shine Bright my Beautiful Angel!!

After missing Brooke these past four weeks my deepest feelings are...
Let’s hold our loved ones a little bit closer. Let’s slow down a little bit more and savor the SIMPLE precious moments we get to share. Let’s spend time doing the things that our loved ones enjoy doing and allow them share their passions in life with us. Let's listen a little bit more intently. Let’s love more freely, openly heartedly and unconditionally. Let's let go of judgement and criticism and just look for the good and the beauty in those we love. This is how Brooke lived and loved! I have learned so much from this precious daughter of mine! How I Love You my precious Brookie! I Miss you Every Moment of Every Day!
